Nugget was named by our first ever IT Pathways year 1 class in the 2020-2021 school year. Nugget has become a student as well as a teacher in our IT Pathways program. Students in the two year pathway will develop their skills using REVIT and blueprint reading.


• Revit is a construction-based software widely used by architects, engineers, contractors, and designers to create a unified model consisting of real-life information (*Source: Autodesk). It is a design and documentation platform that enables students to use a single, integrated building information model to conceptualize, design, and finally document a project.
• Accurate blueprint reading helps you identify the location of important building elements during renovations, rebuilding, or work on electrical and HVAC systems. Student Project - Machine
3D Printers are interesting machines that turn reels of plastic wire (or other materials) into many different objects through applied heat, as long as the person using the 3D printer knows what they want to make. They’re like printers, but 3D. Hence the name.


3D Printing is usually thought of as a relatively new concept, but 3D printing experiments and patents date back to the 80’s.


Below is a picture of a small object that was created with our “Mr. Salt (PLA)” 3D Printer, and painted with acrylic craft paint.

Wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, and pliers are all pretty common tools that everyone has around their house. Students must be able to demonstrate the proper use and identification, including safety procedures, for various hand tools related to construction.


In this pathway you will learn how to:


• Demonstrate the proper use and identification, including safety procedures, for various power tools related to construction
• Demonstrate the proper safety, use, care, and maintenance of hand tools before jumping in to use the various power tools/equipment
• Identify/select appropriate hand and power tools for specific tasks in carpentry and other trades
• Identify specific tools and materials a worker needs to complete different tasks in various trades.

HBI Pre-Apprenticeship


TCC’s Construction Skilled Trades is an approved pre-apprenticeship and certificate training program designed by HBI (Home Builders Institute). Nugget was named by our first ever IT Pathways year 1 class in the 2020-2021 school year. Nugget has become a student as well as a teacher in our IT Pathways program. Nugget teaches the students how to program, and in turn, Nugget will react as requested by the user. Nugget is a fun learning experience for all of our IT pathways students! A CNC router is a computer-controlled cutting machine and can be used for cutting wood, foam, plastics, and more. The CNC router also does carves, drills, and machines - all kinds of materials.


Some common uses of the CNC router include making interior and exterior decorations, sign boards, wood frames, toys, and moldings, as well as larger objects like furniture, boats, and even houses.

Student Project - Machine
3D Printers are interesting machines that turn reels of plastic wire (or other materials) into many different objects through applied heat, as long as the person using the 3D printer knows what they want to make. They’re like printers, but 3D. Hence the name.


3D Printing is usually thought of as a relatively new concept, but 3D printing experiments and patents date back to the 80’s.


Below is a picture of a small object that was created with our “Mr. Salt (PLA)” 3D Printer, and painted with acrylic craft paint.
